Dragon Ball 5 DC Characters Goku Would Love (& 5 He Would Hate)
Goku is a pretty easy going guy most of the time, but even he can't get along with everyone.

The pop culture impact of Dragon Ball is hard to calculate. For many fans of anime, it, or one of its sequel series, was the show that opened the door to the animation style. Over the decades, the shows characters and themes have been referenced in other shows, comics, music, and film. Like Spider-Man or the Transformers, Dragon Ball has entered the public consciousness.
A big part of what makes Dragon Ball so popular is Goku. Fans, many of whom grew up with Goku, love him as much as Goku loves eating. With his kind heart and love of competition, we couldn't help but think about the five DC characters Goku would love, and the five he would hate...
10 Love: Superman

Two infants sent to Earth for very different reasons, there's little doubt that Superman and Goku would become friends. While Goku originally came to Earth to destroy it, he ended up becoming the world's greatest champion. Superman came to Earth when his home planet was destroyed and chose to use his powers to help humanity.
The two heroes inspire those around them to do great things and consistently push themselves to always be better. As outsiders, they have a deep love for the Earth that few others understand. To them, there is nothing more important than protecting their adopted home.
9 Hate: Lex Luthor

We all know how Lex Luthor feels about aliens with extraordinary abilities who come to Earth and are celebrated by the masses. The exact things Lex hates about Superman exist within Goku, and that is sure to irk the bald billionaire. Lex would undoubtedly try to snake his way into Goku's life, looking to find a way to steal the hero's power. Because Goku can be overly trusting and naive the plan would likely work for a while. But sooner or later, Goku would see Lex for what he truly is, and that isn't someone the Saiyan would want to be friends with.
8 Love: Shazam

Two big-hearted heroes who value family like Goku and Shazam would be bound to become friends. And while he didn't lose his planet, Billy Batson also knows what it is like to be orphaned, an experience he can share with Goku. Still a teen, Shazam would likely look up to Goku as something of a mentor, and Goku would happily be there to help Earth's Mightiest Mortal make his way through the turbulent world. One aspect that Goku wouldn't be much help with is Billy's homework, but there are some things Billy just needs to do himself.
7 Hate: Batman

Another DC orphan, it may seem like Batman and Goku would get along well, and while they would surely respect one another, it would be begrudgingly. Batman's use of fear as a tactic wouldn't sit well with Goku, who tends to be more of a "let the light shine in" kind of guy. And just like Shazam, Goku would surely get under Batman's skin with his endless optimism. These two heroes wouldn't turn against each other, but they certainly wouldn't be hanging out together anytime soon. Which is too bad. Goku would probably love Alfred's cucumber sandwiches.
6 Love: Orphan

Someone from the Batfamily that Goku would find kinship with is Orphan. Like Goku, she was meant to be a force for evil but chose to defy her heritage and fight for the good of the world. And while Orphan isn't one to smile very often, she has learned to open up more over the years, and an influence like Goku could push that further along.
The two also share a similar upbringing when it comes to school, in that they didn't go to school. Orphan, a perfect fighting machine, didn't know how to read or write when Batman first came across her, and Goku grew up in the mountains, far from any schools.
5 Hate: Scarecrow

The master of fear, Scarecrow has been a recurring thorn in Batman's side for years. His creepy costume and fear toxin is enough to send just about any hero running, but for Goku, there's an extra dimension of terror - needles. Goku suffers from trypanophobia - a fear of medical needles - and as Dr. Jonathan Crane, Scarecrow knows how to make needles extra creepy.
Needles aside, Scarecrow being a villain would be a big issue for Goku, but not one he couldn't overcome if Scarecrow reformed. Goku is a big believer in second chances, and sometimes all a guy like Scarecrow needs is someone who believes they can change.
4 Love: Flash (Wally West)

When he first became Flash, Wally West used to have to eat constantly to keep his metabolism up. If he didn't scarf down three pizzas and an extra-large soda before going into battle, there was a chance that Wally would pass out in the middle of the fight. This is something Goku knows all too well. He too needs to eat massive amounts of food to keep his strength up. If he doesn't get enough calories in his system, Goku will become too weak to stand. Wally and Goku could trade recipes over a few bowls of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs.
3 Hate: Hawkman

Always angry, always smarmy, and always looking to prove he's better than everyone else, Hawkman would be the kind of hero Goku would want to keep away from. The two would certainly have some great sparring sessions, but once it became clear to Goku that Hawkman doesn't know when to relax, he wouldn't want to hang around the reincarnated Egyptian prince too often.
For Hawkman, Goku would remind him too much of his brief period with the Justice League during the days of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. He didn't have time for their antics, and he wouldn't have time for Goku either.
2 Love: Death

Goku loves life, and in the DC universe, there are few characters who love life as much as Death. One of the Endless, Death gets one day every hundred years to spend as a human, experiencing all that she can. Someone like Goku would be a wonderful guide to show Death the sights and get her the right foods.
Death and Goku would make an odd couple when it comes to looks, Death in her goth garb and Goku in his bright orange and blue Turtle School uniform. Goku's big spiky hair is similar to the hairstyle of Dream, Death's little brother, so she would enjoy that.
1 Hate: Amanda Waller

Goku believes that everyone can be redeemed. To him, forgiveness is a part of living, and to hold onto hate is a grave mistake. His tendency to trust people, even his enemies, has gotten Goku into a few problems over the years, but it is a part of him that will never change.Amanda Waller implants bombs into the heads of criminals and makes them go on suicide missions. She doesn't trust anyone on the planet, not even Superman, and does her best to manipulate governments into doing what she wants. Waller sees herself as a hero, but to Goku, she's no better than Lex Luthor.
