Dragon Ball 5 Fan Theories That Make No Sense (& 5 That Do)
Dragon Ball spawns a lot of fan theories from fans. While some fan theories involving Broly make sense, others with Frieza and Goku don't make sense.

The Dragon Ball franchise is undoubtedly one of the most popular anime series around without a shadow of a doubt. Dragon Ball Z is a major reason why Japanese media managed to break into the Western mainstream, while Dragon Ball Super is a prime example of just how popular the series has proven to be, releasing almost two decades after its legendary predecessor finished its run. Truly, there is no anime that has reached the heights of Dragon Ball in popularity.
The series is also notable for its rabid fanbase, latching onto any small hint — intentional or otherwise — and forming ostentatious and wild fan theories that are equal parts incredible and unbelievable. Out of the sheer wealth of fan theories available on the interwebs, there are 5 that are so ridiculous to the level that only the most insane fans would attach even a shred of belief to these wild guessings. However, along with these, there are 5 plausible fan theories that could actually play out further down the line.
Here's an in-depth look into 5 of these implausible theories, coupled with 5 that are actually somewhat believable.
10 NONSENSICAL: Frieza Will Become A Z Warrior

Out of all the theories that have come up regarding Dragon Ball Super's next season, perhaps the stupidest out of the lot is even remotely believing that someone as proud and deceitful like Lord Frieza would ever think about joining a group like the Z Warriors.
However, for some reason, people believe that Frieza's participation in the Tournament Of Power and the manner in which he started treating Goku as an equal is somehow indicative of the fact that Frieza will magically do a face turn and join a group for the purposes of justice.
9 MAKES SENSE: Broly Will Become A Z Warrior

However, while the idea of Frieza becoming a Z Warrior sounds completely unlikely, the same can't be said for Broly... especially given the fact that his previous character was retconned to make way for a misunderstood Saiyan who just needs a bit of direction in life.
After his encounter with Goku and Vegeta, it's inevitable that this misunderstood Legendary Saiyan will form a bond with Goku that will help develop his character into a gentle giant of sorts, which can possibly culminate with him joining the Z Warriors and facing any threat that Earth might face.
8 NONSENSICAL: Zamasu Abducted Kakarot Before He Hit His Head And Became Goku

The only reason why this theory makes no sense is because of the fact that it's proven to be untrue. However, if one discards the official canon, then it must be said that this particular fan theory would've actually made the Future Trunks arc all the more entertaining and memorable.
Basically, fans surmised that Zamasu traveled all the way back in time before Kakarot crash-landed on Earth, hit his head, and lost his memory. This allowed Zamasu to groom a child who was essentially Kakarot, leading to the character known as Goku Black.
7 MAKES SENSE: Extreme Anger Helps Saiyans Without God Ki Tap Into The Power Of Super Saiyan Blue

During the Future Trunks arc, both Goku and Vegeta are outclassed by Zamasu and Goku Black, even in their Super Saiyan Blue form. Repeatedly facing this adversity pushes Future Trunks to the limit, who — in a fit of pure rage — completely lost his cool and unlocked a new Super Saiyan form, dubbed as Super Saiyan Rage.
While fans rightfully called this transformation out as a lazy way to increase Trunks' power, it still makes sense to an extent since rage has always been the driving power behind Super Saiyan transformations. If this rage reaches a point where Future Trunks ends up tapping into his potential and attaining the power of the gods, it won't be all that unbelievable.
6 NONSENSICAL: Goku Black Is Actually Goten

The base of this theory stems from the fact that Goten looks similar to Goku and wears long sleeves under his gi, similar to Goku Black. The fact that Black also seemed to be the same age as Future Trunks and Mai was another aspect that fuelled this theory.
However, the fact of the matter is that the show itself has completely written this theory off, detailing out that Present Zamasu just took over Goku Black's body and proceeded to wreak havoc in the future timeline.
5 MAKES SENSE: Beerus Will Try And Destroy Goku Before The Saiyan Eclipses His Power Level

During the Tournament Of Power arc — along with several mentions beforehand — Whis tells Beerus several times that Goku is on track to surpass the God Of Destruction's power level. While Beerus dismisses this fact more often than not, there are two times when he genuinely seems rattled. This is in no small part due to the fact that he's seen a dream where a stronger fighter beats and replaces him.
The first time is somewhat comical when Goku combines his Kaioken technique with Super Saiyan Blue. However, the second time is when Beerus actually shows concern, with Goku managing to tap into the power of Ultra Instinct. All these hints are indicative of the fact that Beerus might perceive Goku as a threat and hatch a plan to get rid of him before he becomes too big of a hurdle.
4 NONSENSICAL: The Angels Are Actually Evil

It might be too much to state that the Angels of their respective universes are the very epitome of kindness — if anything, they relished the fact that they were getting off scot-free while their entire universe was getting wiped out if they lost in the Tournament Of Power.
However, there's a difference between being selfish and being evil. Were the angels selfish because they were looking out for themselves? Yes, but that doesn't necessarily make them evil.
3 MAKES SENSE: Vegeta Will Become The Next God Of Destruction

The Prince Of All Saiyans is one of the most memorable characters in Dragon Ball, with a character arc that is equal parts masterful and believable. With his pragmatic sense of justice, it's very much possible that Vegeta could take over Beerus' position as the next God Of Destruction.
After all, he's already unlocked access to god ki, which will certainly make this transition all the more easier.
2 NONSENSICAL: The Saiyan Saga Happened Because Bulma Wished For A Boyfriend

Throughout the entirety of the original Dragon Ball's run, it was quite palpable that Bulma was desperate for a long-term boyfriend. According to this theory, Bulma actually succeeded in wishing for the same between the events of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, leading to Vegeta landing on Earth and the subsequent events that followed.
While this might make a bit of sense if one stretches things, it's inherently stupid to believe that an event so monumental would be carried out off-screen, making this theory completely null and void.
1 MAKES SENSE: Goku Will Become The Next Supreme Kai

If Vegeta can become the next God Of Destruction, it's very much possible that Goku can conversely become the next Supreme Kai as well.
While this might throw away the ground reality of the Supreme Kai being weaker than the God Of Destruction, it's still an entertaining possibility to consider regardless. After all, the Dragon Ball series is no stranger to gratuitous fanservice, and the fights that Vegeta and Goku will have as legitimate gods is a salivating prospect for fans of the franchise.
