Dragon Ball 5 Couples That Would Make A Lot Of Sense (& 5 That Would Be Awful)
From Trunks and Pan to Bardock and Fasha, here are 5 Dragon Ball relationships that would make sense (and 5 that would just be terrible).

The Dragon Ball series is one that is full of some of the most iconic and well-known relationships in anime. Throughout this series fans witness characters meet and grow into something more over the span of entire arcs. This longevity and viewing of relationships become a thing that is very common in Shonen.
Another very common thing relating to character relationships in this anime/manga genre is fan couples, something even Dragon Ball isn't free of. However, while some of these imaginary pairings make some sense, others make none at all. This list will be taking a look at a few.
10 MAKES SENSE: TRUNKS AND PAN

Despite their age difference during the Dragon Ball GT series, Gohan and Videl's daughter Pan, and Vegeta and Bulma's son Trunks were heavily shipped together. It's easy to see why the pair was so wanted to truly get together throughout the series.
These two share a ton of scenes together and always have nice chemistry when they're sharing screentime. Not to mention that they are both children of two of Earth's saviors and it'd be funny to see the reactions of their parents. The only thing keeping this pairing from being perfect is their ages.
9 AWFUL: BULMA AND YAMCHA

The fact that these two have already tried to be a thing is evidence enough that this is a pairing that would not be fitting for a return. After Bulma and Yamcha split due to Yamcha's huge ego, apparent commitment issues, and general love of women it wouldn't make a lick of sense for the two to tie the knot again.
Yamcha and Bulma may have seemed fitting for each other at the beginning of Dragon Ball but at the start of the Z era, both characters had grown into people that just weren't compatible. Plus Bulma found a much better man.
8 MAKES SENSE: BULMA AND GOKU

While Bulma and Yamcha are a duo that would make no sense nowadays, this pairing of the original Dragon Ball duo makes a whole lot of it. For years now Dragon Ball fans have always thought about the potential of Goku and Bulma becoming a thing due to the time they spent throughout the original series.
Honestly, this pairing would make more sense than anyone gives it credit for. Not only was Bulma Goku's first friend but the two spent years trusting each other with their lives. It's surprising they didn't truly become a thing.
7 AWFUL: VEGETA AND 18

One of the more popular crack ships (which is another way to say weird pairing) is between that of Vegeta and Android 18. This is one ship that most fans just can't get behind not only due to the two already having relationships but they just aren't compatible in the first place, and no that's not just because 18 gave Vegeta a beating in the Android Saga.
These two are just a bit too unlike each other, with Vegeta being much too prideful to get with someone as dominant and lowkey as Android 18.
6 MAKES SENSE: KALE AND CAULIFA

Kale and Caulifa are as close a duo as it can get in the world of Dragon Ball. In fact, these two share just about every scene they have in Dragon Ball Super with one another. They are best friends and Kale is sort of a student to Caulifa due to her quiet and shy nature and Kale is the louder and more eccentric of the two.
This is one of the examples of opposites attracting which would go double if the two ended up becoming more than just best friends. This is yet another popular ship in the fandom and one that would be believable if it became real.
5 AWFUL: TOWA AND GOKU BLACK

This pairing is yet another ship that enjoys a bit of popularity in the Dragon Ball shipping fandom. Towa and Goku Black interact a bit in the extended lore seen in various Dragon Ball videogames such ad Dragon Ball Fusions and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Both times with Goku Black allowing himself to actually be controlled and/or powered up by Towa, something this god would let no one else do.
While this is true, the superiority complexes of these two would have them put themselves above each other, most likely ending up in betrayal.
4 MAKES SENSE: BROLY AND CHEELAI

This pairing made its appearance in the initial appearance of these two "new" characters in the new Dragon Ball film Dragon Ball Super: Broly and has enjoyed a lot of time being the biggest ship in the fandom ever since then. Broly and Cheelai's relationship has birthed tons of fanart, fanfic stories, and more due to how well the two work together.
This duo is probably one of the best pairings in the history of the series due to how they interact with one another on-screen, each protecting the other in a different way.
3 AWFUL: VEGETA AND CHICHI

Just as the possible pairing of Goku and Bulma being a thing is tossed around the minds of Dragon Ball fans everywhere, the same goes for the opposite pairing of Vegeta and Chichi. However, this pairing has nowhere near the chemistry that Goku and Bulma had nor does it seem that the two would grow into being such a thing.
Not only is Vegeta more dominant than Goku but he still wouldn't agree with Chichi's wishes of ignoring training. While he's more of a family man he just seems to be too prideful to be with her.
2 MAKES SENSE: GOKU AND ANDROID 21

Android 21 makes her first appearance in the fighting game Dragon Ball Fighter Z. Being the new breakout character she, of course, shares a ton of scenes with the series's main character, Goku. These scenes have been taken by fans as being slightly flirty and many shippers have taken to the pair quite fondly.
This is one ship that actually makes sense. The two's scenes together with them bonding and actively exchanging sweet words makes sure of that.
1 AWFUL: BARDOCK AND FASHA

Whereas some characters are shipped for actually having flirty scenes together, others are shipped for just being seen together. This is heavily the case of the pairing of Goku's father Bardock and his subordinate team member Fasha.
These two were apparently close friends along with the rest of Bardock's squad. However, not only was Bardock originally a man that was focused on power, but he was also not a family man at all as seen with his original thoughts on his son Kakarot. This leads this pairing to be one of the worst of the bunch.
