Dragon Ball 5 Characters Piccolo Would Love To TeamUp With (& 5 He Never Would)
Piccolo tends to be up for a team-up if the situation calls for it, but Dragon Ball's Namekian is not willing to join forces with just any character.

Shonen is one of the most popular genres of anime and there is never going to be a shortage of content in the area. Every year there are new and impressive anime that join the ranks of older classics, but Dragon Ball is one series that feels timeless in many respects. It will always be popular and relevant.
Many of the characters in the series have gone through substantial development, but Piccolo is one of the better and more extreme examples. Piccolo is one of several characters who’s been able to successfully shift from villain to hero, but he still has selective standards of who he’ll fight with and who qualifies as a partner.
10 Would Love To: Android 17

Dragon Ball is a series that provides ample opportunities for redemption and if it wasn’t for such chances to turn a new leaf then Piccolo would have been one of Dragon Ball Z’s earliest casualties. Android 17 temporarily disappears, but he gets to be the unexpected MVP from Universe 7 during Dragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Power.
One of the first big fights during the Android Saga is between 17 and Piccolo. With how much growth both of these characters have done, it would be extremely satisfying to see them form their own team and pool their skills together.
9 Would Never: Cell

Cell is a major Dragon Ball villain who shouldn’t be underestimated, but he hasn’t gone on to form the same intimidating legacy that Frieza has over time. Despite this, Cell is still an individual who Piccolo would never allow to be a partner.
Cell personally caused Piccolo a lot of physical pain. Cell's ability to absorb people would also leave Piccolo constantly vulnerable, even if they are supposed to be on the same team. He’d just never be able to fully trust him.
8 Would Love To: Buu

Buu is another Dragon Ball villain that’s managed to turn into one of the good guys, or rather all of the good within the strange entity became channeled into its own character. Dragon Ball Super has unfortunately wasted Buu as a character, but that doesn’t hide the tremendous potential that lies in the character.
In fact, the malleable ability of both Piccolo and Buu would make them a very unusual but formidable team that would definitely be able to withstand and attack. They would be sure to add an element of surprise into a fight.
7 Would Never: Dabura

Dragon Ball’s “Buu Saga” brings with it Babidi and all sorts of magical evil Majin threats. Buu gets the most attention, but Dabura is a Demon King in his own right and shouldn’t be overlooked. Dabura’s impact is small in the anime, but he makes a considerable impression on both Piccolo and Krillin, who he turns to stone with his spit.
Not only is Dabura pure evil and beyond trusting, but this unique ability and its history with Piccolo is also enough to prevent the two from working together. Funnily enough, Dabura and Demon King Piccolo would probably get along great.
6 Would Love To: Goten

One of the strongest relationships to form within Dragon Ball is the unlikely bond between Gohan and Piccolo. For many different reasons, this friendship holds significance, but Piccolo even becomes more of a father to Gohan than his actual dad.
It’d be nice to see Piccolo apply the same treatment to Goten and help him become the next great warrior. Goten certainly finds a kinship with Trunks, but the right motivation from Piccolo could turn them into a very powerful alliance that could possibly even surpass what the Namekian had with Gohan.
5 Would Never: Lord Slug

Dragon Ball Z has plenty of movies, but there’s still debate on whether they should be considered canon to the series. The fourth movie, Lord Slug, isn’t anything special, but it does bring with it the advent of an evil Namekian for its villain.
Lord Slug gets pretty far for a Namekian, but it’s likely this character would only remind Piccolo of the evil members of his race who have squandered their opportunities. The reformation of Lord Slug could make for interesting material, but the character has never shown any interest in such things.
4 Would Love To: Whis

Ever since Beerus and Whis have entered Dragon Ball, they’ve been characters that tend to stay by the sidelines and observe, except for extreme situations. Beerus has a very mocking attitude about Earth and its inhabitants, but Whis actually trains characters to unlock new heights of power.
As Piccolo is one of the best fighters in the right context, it’d be exciting to see these two masters pool their skills together and deliver a team that’s all skill with no room for goofing off.
3 Would Never: Moro

Dragon Ball Super’s anime has ended for the time being, but the manga has explored new material, including a powerful villain called Moro. Moro proves to be a match for everyone involved, but his planet consuming and energy-absorbing ways have him decimate the New Planet Namek and the remaining members of the race.
Nobody is eager to work with Moro, but Piccolo has even more of a reason to resent the magical villain due to what he has done to Piccolo’s race.
2 Would Love To: Vegeta

Piccolo’s bond with Vegeta has certainly come a long way and much like with Goku, these two didn’t initially see eye to eye. Vegeta did considerable harm to innocent Namekians back on Piccolo’s planet, but these are sins that Vegeta has carried with him and tried to redeem himself over.
Piccolo has been able to acknowledge the growth that Vegeta has done. It would be such a great turn of events if they could officially work as a team and firmly show that they’re stronger together than apart.
1 Would Never: Frieza

Piccolo and his allies have several reasons to hold grudges against any of the villains that show up in Dragon Ball Z, but Piccolo shares an intrinsic hatred towards Frieza because he destroyed his home planet.
Namek was restored over time, but this was still a devastating act that managed to make Piccolo feel truly alone in a way that no other villain has been able to accomplish. Other villains may be physically stronger, but this speaks to how Frieza’s warring ways can cause so much harm.
