Dragon Ball 10 Things Toriyama Forgot That Drives Fans Crazy
Considering Dragon Ball began in 1984, it's no wonder creator Akira Toriyama has let certain things slip his mind. Including these 10 things.

The Dragon Ball series is one that's been going on since 1984. With a series that started all the way back then and is still being updated even now, it's obvious that there will be tons of lore, characters, and different plot elements to accompany it. Well, that's the case with Dragon Ball and it's produced a bit of a problem.
That problem is the fact that the series creator and writer, Akira Toriyama, finds certain things slipping his mind. Some of those things that slip his mind have had fans going crazy for years, so we decided to list a few of those things for you guys. Let's see how many of these you forgot.
10 LAUNCH

Does anyone remember Launch? You know, the girl that had a very prominent role in the original Dragon Ball series? She's the one that sneezed and pulled a Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde by switching from a nice and innocent girl to a rough and rowdy one. She also became Tenshinhan's girlfriend for a long while.
Well, Akira Toriyama apparently didn't remember her. In fact ever since Dragon Ball's sequel/continuation Dragon Ball Z started she's been nowhere to be found. She's been around since the series started so honestly it's really sad to have her just up and disappear.
9 SUPER SAIYAN 2

Apparently while Toriyama was helping out with the writing of the Dragon Ball Super film, Battle of the Gods he actually forgot the second state of the Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2. This was stated during an interview where he confirmed he thought that the Super Saiyan 3 form was Super Saiyan 2 for a good while.
Honestly, we can't blame him for that one. You have to admit that Super Saiyan 2 resembles Super Saiyan 1 a good bit, just with the added electric energy flare and a few more of the hairs sticking up.
8 ANTHROPOMORPHIC CHARACTERS

If you've been along the Dragon Ball ride you may remember that there were quite a few characters that fit this description. Of course, there was the shape-shifting pig Oolong, but we're talking all those anthropomorphic characters that always catch your eye during things like the world tournaments that were so prominent in the series.
We're sure you've noticed that those characters aren't seen at all during the sequels of the original series. Did Toriyama forget these guys or did he just realize they didn't fit in the series?
7 BROLY

Daiki Miki, the mind behind the MMO Dragon Ball Online and characters like Towa and Fu has talked about how Akira Toriyama has admitted to forgetting just who the heck the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly is. It wasn't until the production started on the new film, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, that he was actually reminded who the heck Broly was.
So without this new film, Broly probably would have actually become a legend. All you Broly fans really need to thank whoever came up with the idea of reintroducing him with the new movie.
6 GOTEN

Okay, this one is a bit out there but we can see how he forgot one of the characters that he and the other Dragon Ball writers barely give anything to do in the first place. Daiki Miki also tipped this one off via a tweet that he put out after working with the legendary mangaka.
He stated that before the thing about Toriyama forgetting Broly even came out he asked him for a sketch of Goten. Funny enough, Toriyama responded with a "Who is Goten?" Noting that he shouldn't have designed a character with a look that's so close to kid Goku's.
5 TAILS

This one is debatable but trust us, we have receipts on why we believe Toriyama mostly forgot that tails were a thing. It definitely makes sense to say that Saiyan tails are recessive because the genes of the full-blooded Saiyans get more and more polluted as they have more children. Yeah, that mostly makes sense but what about Trunks?
If Goku's first child, Gohan, was born with a tail what's up with Vegeta's first child? One could argue that Bulma's genes are more dominant but this is Dragon Ball, no one's going that in-depth.
4 MERCENARY TAO

You think such an impactful villain would have been remembered by Toriyama. Mercenary Tao was one of Goku's earliest iconic foes and was a badass character in his own right. The guy throws a pole and lands on it surfboard style to get from place to place. He also taught Goku's longtime partner Tenshinhan his fighting technique.
This instance of forgetfulness was seen when Toriyama was interviewed and asked about the mercenary. Funny enough during this interview, One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda remembered how cool Tao was with Toriyama responding with, "Now you're getting to the less important characters."
3 SUPER SAIYAN FORM 1 DOESN'T HAVE SPARKS

Well, this one isn't as offensive as the past few but it's still an example of Toriyama's forgetfulness. Most Dragon Ball fans know that the differences between Super Saiyan 1 and 2 are the slight change in hairs sticking up, and the electric sparks that show up in the aura of Super Saiyan 2.
As seen when Goku first becomes form 1 and while each of the characters are form 1 during the Android through Cell sagas none of them have sparks coming from their aura. When Gohan becomes Super Saiyan 2 however, sparks come from his aura. This trend is followed when Goku goes form 2 as well as when Majin Vegeta goes form 2 in the Buu saga. Afterward, even form 1 is seen with the sparks.
2 ANDROID 18'S HAIR COLOR

Let's give the man some credit when it comes to this one. It's been a long time since Toriyama has had to draw Android 18 and he has said that he doesn't write notes on the series so it's no wonder he's forgotten so much.
Anyways, apparently during the production of the film Battle of the Gods, he forgot that Android 18's hair was supposed to be blonde, leading him to give it a purple color instead. He had no clue that he made this mistake until his co-workers pointed it out to him so he could fix his mistake.
1 TENSHINHAN'S MULTIPLE ARM MOVE

The ability called the Four Witches Technique was created by the Three-Eyed People. It allows the user to grow two extra arms from their back and is typically seen used in combat. It is seen in Dragon Ball during the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament during Tenshinhan's fight with kid Goku.
This technique was used during Dragon Ball and was all but forgotten until Dragon Ball Super where it was used shortly. As we all know, Super is overseen by Toriyama, not written. So chalk this one up to someone else remembering this technique.
