Dragon Ball 10 Super Chapters That Totally Outshine The Anime Ranked
Anime adaptations can't always portray everything in a manga. Here are 10 Dragon Ball Super Chapters that outshine the manga, ranked.

With the popularity of Dragon Ball never ceasing for even a second, it was only a given that Toei Animation would cave into this pressure and release a sequel to the popular anime. This is exactly what turned out to be the case, and a sequel by the name of Dragon Ball Super was finally released two decades after DBZ ended its run.
Of course, the anime wasn't the only form of Dragon Ball Super that one could experience — a manga by Toyotaro was also made alongside this anime, which hit some different story beats throughout its run. In fact, some fans will go so far as to say that the manga was actually better than the anime at certain points.
10 Chapter 13: The Winning Universe Is Decided!

In the anime, Hit is shown to be this unassailable force to the point that Goku needs to whip out his Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken form in order to take him out. However, that is not even remotely the case in the manga.
The Super Saiyan God form gives Hit enough trouble as is, and Goku's transformation into Super Saiyan Blue leaves Hit shaking in his boots. This is just one of the many ways in which the Dragon Ball Super manga makes the Super Saiyan Blue look way more powerful than its anime counterpart.
9 Chapter 15: Hope!! Once Again

In the anime, Trunks's fight against Goku is a pretty one-sided affair. A simple transformation into Super Saiyan 3 is enough to leave the blue-haired Saiyan down and out for the count.
However, the manga builds up Trunks to be way more powerful. After Goku powers up to a Super Saiyan 3 in this version of the fight, Trunks decides to step up his game and power up even further, allowing him to match Goku's power level. This compels Goku to use Super Saiyan God for a fleeting instance to take Trunks down. Perhaps this was a way for the manga to avoid using the Super Saiyan Rage form.
8 Chapter 22: Zamas's Final Trump Card

In the anime, Vegeta never reveals his Super Saiyan God form. In fact, it isn't until the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie that he finally reveals this form once and for all.
However, in the manga, Vegeta uses the Super Saiyan God form all the way back in the Future Trunks arc, during his rematch with Goku Black. He alternates between his God and Blue form in order to be quick in his defense and powerful in his offense. This technique is used by Goku in the anime instead, during the Tournament of Pain.
7 Chapter 24: Son Goku's Evolution

Unlike the Super Saiyan Blue Evolution or the Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken forms present in the anime, the manga decides to be way more coherent and straightforward with its Super Saiyan evolutions instead.
This can be seen in Chapter 24 when Goku reaches a Perfected Super Saiyan Blue form during his fight against Fused Zamasu. This form allows the user to use the power of Super Saiyan Blue indefinitely, without wasting precious ki and stamina in the process.
6 Chapter 25: Will It Be Goku?! Or Zamas?!

The attainment of the Perfected Super Saiyan Blue form allows Goku to fight on even ground against Zamasu, even after the Vegito fusion wears off. In fact, his power is magnified to such an extent that Goku even gains the ability to use Hakai, which was normally only reserved for a Destroyer god.
While it's somewhat puzzling as to how Goku emulated this technique in the first place, fans can't deny how epic this moment was regardless.
5 Chapter 26: The Decisive Battle! Farewell, Trunks!

After using the Potara Fusion and getting split in two, the cellular regeneration of Fused Zamasu goes haywire, something that happens both in the manga and anime. However, it's the nature of this regeneration that's somewhat different. While the anime just shows a shadowy presence looming over the world, the manga decides to go the extra mile and show numerous copies of Zamasu cropping up all over the landscape, which is certainly more visually striking.
Goku deals with the threat the same way as he did in the anime: by using the button Zeno gave him to summon Future Zeno and put an end to this threat once and for all.
4 Chapter 28: The Gods Of Destruction From All 12 Universes

For everyone who wished to see a free-for-all between the Destroyer Gods of all the universes, the manga delivers upon this with a rather entertaining exhibition at the very start of the Tournament of Power arc.
By the end of this skirmish, Beerus and Quitela are the only two Gods standing. The manga doesn't conclude this epic fight however, since both the Zeno's found it hard to follow the fight and told the Gods to stop instead.
3 Chapter 39: Sign Of Son Goku's Awakening

Chapter 39 shows two major yet welcome deviations from the anime. Firstly, it puts Gohan in a major role as he fights Kefla one-on-one. While it does end with both fighters knocking each other out of the ring, it's still a cool scene to witness regardless.
The other scene is Master Roshi giving Goku the teachings he needs to unlock Ultra Instinct, which he does.
2 Chapter 40: Jiren Vs. Universe 7

Android 17's role is fairly muted throughout the entire Tournament of Power arc in the manga, so it's great to finally see him play a major role in the Tournament in this chapter.
While he pretends to blow himself up to help Universe 7, he actually just destroys half the ring and waits until the very final moments of the tournament to finally reveal himself.
1 Chapter 41: Ultra Instinct

Jiren might be one of the most powerful fighters in Dragon Ball history, but he never really got a ton of character development during the time he was featured in the anime.
This is changed in the manga, where Jiren's motivations for winning the tournament are revealed. Turns out that Jiren wants to secure the Super Dragon Balls so that he could resurrect his master, Gicchin. It might not be the greatest villain backstory in the world, but it still humanizes Jiren to an extent.
