Dragon Ball Reveals RealWorld Super Saiyan Strength Training Regimen

The heroes in Dragon Ball are constantly training and their Super Saiyan abilities have long inspired fans to hit the gym. Now, a strength training regimen has been devised by a cosplay aficionado in Japan, which aims to bring the series closer to home. Fans of the hit manga can try out an official Dragon Ball regimen to be like their favorite alien warriors.

Dragon Ball, created by Akira Toriyama, began inspiring fans in 1984. Since then, it has become a hit franchise with numerous manga series continuing the story, anime adaptations, and several films - with more still on the way! With Goku, Vegeta, and their family and friends constantly training, it's no surprise that fans have wanted to get in on the act themselves. Many fans have even sported Dragon Ball-inspired workout clothes to channel their inner Super Saiyan. The next step would naturally be finding out which workouts would be best for them.

One peculiar fitness option, provided by the official Dragon Ball website, is a strength training regimen developed by Kota Kobayashi - a lawyer and cosplayer. As a cosplayer, he wanted to "be able to cosplay as big, muscular manga characters." He won the 2019 NPCJ World Legends Classic, which is a physique competition in Japan hosted by the National Physique Committee. He has also been featured on an exercise program titled, Let's Kinniku Together!, which is broadcasted by NHK (Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai, or the Japan Broadcasting Corporation). When approaching this workout, he had Trunks' physique in mind, since the other Super Saiyans are far too muscular in build for the average person to achieve.

This particular regimen targets the upper body: deltoids, biceps, triceps, pectorals, latissimus dorsi, and abdominals. It requires an ab wheel and a resistance band. The workout includes eight exercises but ideally would have more. It was tried out by Dragon Ball's article writer who is just beginning his workout journey and found the endeavor very challenging. Also mentioned on the Dragon Ball website is the importance of proper nutrition, which definitely shouldn't be neglected. Goku and his friends are frequently seen replenishing their stomachs within the series. Ultimately, the estimate for bringing Trunks' physique off of the page with this workout is five years. Unfortunately for fans, the training speed humans can withstand is nowhere close to the speed Goku and Vegeta can train - particularly since they have alien biology to factor in.

While this strength training wouldn't be ideal for everyone, its existence reveals just how inspirational Dragon Ball is to its fans. It isn't just a story about fighting powerful opponents - it is a journey for each predominant character to become their best selves and push themselves. That being said, Dragon Ball aficionados should exercise caution when beginning new workouts to avoid injury and other negative impacts on their health. The training regimens employed by the series' Super Saiyans are no joke. The physiques of this best-selling manga series' characters are truly out of this world.

Dragon Ball 5 Anime Characters That Could Defeat Jiren (& 5 Who Wouldnt Stand A Chance)

Dragon Ball 5 Anime Characters That Could Defeat Jiren (& 5 Who Wouldnt Stand A Chance) Jiren from Dragon Ball Super is one powerful warrior but in a fight vs anime characters like Jotaro, All Might & Arceus from Pokemon? How does he do? Few Dragon Ball antagonists have been as threatening as Jiren. No doubt, there’s plenty who’ve done some pretty terrifying things, like how Nappa tore through the Z Fighters or how Freiza blew up Namek. But Jiren faced down Goku going Super Saiyan and shrugged it off. He shut down Kale after she went into her Legendary Super Saiyan mode. Beating him took the combined efforts of Goku, Frieza, and Android 17. But just because he’s that powerful, doesn’t mean he isn’t capable of getting laid out. This list takes a look at five anime characters who could take Jiren down without a second thought, and five who would get beaten without Jiren even putting in effort. 10 DOESN'T STAND A CHANCE: ICHIGO Ichigo is the truth. He not only has the power of...

Dragon Ball 5 Fan Theories That Make No Sense (& 5 That Do)

Dragon Ball 5 Fan Theories That Make No Sense (& 5 That Do) Dragon Ball spawns a lot of fan theories from fans. While some fan theories involving Broly make sense, others with Frieza and Goku don't make sense. The Dragon Ball franchise is undoubtedly one of the most popular anime series around without a shadow of a doubt. Dragon Ball Z is a major reason why Japanese media managed to break into the Western mainstream, while Dragon Ball Super is a prime example of just how popular the series has proven to be, releasing almost two decades after its legendary predecessor finished its run. Truly, there is no anime that has reached the heights of Dragon Ball in popularity. The series is also notable for its rabid fanbase, latching onto any small hint — intentional or otherwise — and forming ostentatious and wild fan theories that are equal parts incredible and unbelievable. Out of the sheer wealth of fan theories available on the interwebs, there are 5 that are so ridiculous to the l...
