Dragon Ball 5 Characters Vegeta Would Love To Teamup With (& 5 He Never Would)
Vegeta is a prideful Saiyan who isn't interested in making friends. But if he had to, which fighters would he team-up with?

The shonen category is still going strong and it remains one of the biggest and most popular varieties of anime that are out there. One such shonen title is Dragon Ball, where Goku may be the main character, but there are still plenty of other individuals that get attention. Vegeta quickly became a fan-favorite character and he’s someone who has an intense sense of pride where he often wants to work by himself.
He even struggles to team up with Goku on occasion. Despite this, Vegeta also recognizes and values a strong fighter when he meets one. He may be opposed to many alliances, but there are a select few that could work as partners for the Saiyan Prince.
10 WOULD LOVE TO: Future Trunks

One of the highlights in Dragon Ball Z is when Future Trunks shows up with news of the incoming Androids and a hint at what’s to come for Vegeta. It’s so satisfying when Dragon Ball Super has Future Trunks return with concerns over an even larger danger. There are some moments where Vegeta trains with Future Trunks and they fight together in a larger group context, but it’d still be fulfilling to see just the two of them on an adventure. Vegeta is particular with his tastes, but he has a very obvious reason to be attached to Future Trunks.
9 WOULD NEVER: Gohan

This may come as a bit of a surprise, but despite how far Vegeta has grown as a character and how he’s gotten to the point where he’s been begrudgingly willing to fuse with Goku, there are still certain characters who don’t necessarily mesh with Vegeta. Gohan is a good example and there’s definitely no bad blood between them, but they’re two characters who are rarely paired up. There’s likely some pent up resentment on both of their parts due to the very complicated history that they share together. It’s hard to picture Vegeta fusing with Gohan, too.
8 WOULD LOVE TO: Cabba

For the longest time, it looked like there was a finite number of Saiyans in Dragon Ball, but the advent of new universes in Dragon Ball Super allowed for a handful more to show up courtesy of Universe 6. Out of all of these new characters, it’s Cabba who Vegeta takes the biggest shine towards.
It’s easy to see shades of a young Vegeta in Cabba, but it’s surprising for Vegeta to show this much enthusiasm towards another character. Vegeta is actively excited at the prospect of training Cabba, which could easily turn into situations where they’re fighting together.
7 WOULD NEVER: Cell

Out of all of the villains to be featured in Dragon Ball Z, it feels like Cell is the one who gets the least amount of love, which is a shame since he brings some genuinely interesting ideas forward. If Cell were to return, it seems like Vegeta would be especially against working with him due to how things have gone in the past. For one, Cell ruined his future son’s life and Vegeta’s own hubris with Cell caused a lot of problems. Vegeta would be more likely to kill Cell just so he could say that he did it.
6 WOULD LOVE TO: Whis

Dragon Ball Super has been able to expand its universe with the addition of Gods of Destruction and Angels, who represent a whole new level of power. Goku has been drawn more towards Beerus, but Vegeta has formed more of an affinity with Whis. Whis has trained Vegeta and helped him to tap into new depths of strength, but it wouldn’t be ridiculous to see the two team up in a given situation. Of course, Whis and all Angels aren’t allowed to interfere in events, so this would have to be a specific situation, but one that’s still not impossible.
5 WOULD NEVER: Frieza

Dragon Ball has featured a lot of villains, but despite the characters who have appeared over the years, it’s Frieza who is consistently returned to as the series’ biggest and worst foe. Frieza is often treated like Goku’s largest enemy, but in many ways, there’s an even larger resentment shared between Frieza and Vegeta.
Their hatred spans generations and Vegeta actually experiences crushing defeat during some of his encounters with Frieza, while Goku sees the alternative. Even when Goku brings Frieza into the picture during the Tournament of Power, it feels like Vegeta isn’t really on board with the decision.
4 WOULD LOVE TO: Broly

Dragon Ball has shown a complicated relationship with Broly. He’s an undeniably popular character that gets three Dragon Ball Z films devoted to him and he’s become a larger presence in Dragon Ball video games. Dragon Ball Super: Broly rewrites Broly’s history in a definitive way that becomes the best take on the character yet. There’s still a lot of animosity from Vegeta towards Broly, but their childhoods have a lot in common and they’re both Saiyan royalty in their own way. It’d be a curious team-up, but under the right circumstances, Vegeta could definitely fight with Broly.
3 WOULD NEVER: Zamasu

Zamasu is arguably the biggest danger in Dragon Ball Super. He’s a villain who actually gains immortality and steals Goku’s body for one of the most complex and brilliant schemes that’s ever been featured in Dragon Ball. With all of the damage that Zamasu does, especially in regards to Future Trunks, it’s doubtful that Vegeta would ever turn to him as an ally. It’d be such a spiteful and tenuous alliance that would always have ulterior motives in play. Zamasu establishes himself as such a twisted personality that literally the only person that he can get along with is himself.
2 WOULD LOVE TO: Hit

One of Dragon Ball Super's more interesting aspects is that all of these new universes allow for alternate versions of existing characters to come into play as well as entirely unique threats. Hit is one of the more impressive warriors from Universe 6, and he even puts his skill to work as an intergalactic hitman. Vegeta and Hit haven’t gotten a lot of time together, but it feels like Vegeta respects him and his abilities. He’s also been able to take out Goku, which goes a long way with Vegeta. These two could make a very unique and powerful duo.
1 WOULD NEVER: Moro

Moro may not be a name that as many people are familiar with, but if the Dragon Ball Super anime returns, then this will change. Moro is the latest villain in the Dragon Ball Super manga who’s a magic user and consumes the energy of planets in a very Galactus-like fashion. Moro has already put Vegeta and company through a lot of pain, and he seems like a character beyond redemption. In this sense, it’s extremely unlikely that Vegeta would want to work with him when he’s proven himself to be such a dangerous and unstable evil force.
