Dragon Ball 10 Villains Vegeta’s Already Surpassed

Dragon Ball's Vegeta has seen his fair share of defeats, but many of these enemies are no match for his current power levels.

Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball has firmly solidified its status as one of the biggest anime series of its kind, and it’s helped influence countless other action-heavy shonen series. The ongoing story of Dragon Ball always focuses on the arduous conflict between the forces of good and evil, but the series’ scope has expanded in enlightening ways, which in turn has brought forward villains that are stronger than anything that the heroes have previously encountered.

Vegeta first enters the series as a ruthless villain, but he gradually grows into one of Dragon Ball’s most reliable heroes. Vegeta possesses incredible strength, but he’s often robbed of the opportunity to take out big threats by Dragon Ball’s main character, Goku. Nevertheless, Vegeta is still more than capable of asserting his power and taking out some of the series’ biggest villains.

10 Demon King Piccolo’s Apex Namekian Power Still Gets Trumped By The Saiyan Prince

Vegeta never crosses paths with Demon King Piccolo, one of Dragon Ball's most prominent villains, in the original series. His first encounter with King Piccolo’s prodigy even ends with his quick defeat via his underling, Nappa. Vegeta is well above Demon King Piccolo’s strength level. Not only would Vegeta completely eviscerate King Piccolo, even with his renewed youth, but he’d also be able to take out his waves of demon offsprings with zero difficulty.

9 The Ginyu Force’s Collective Efforts Are A Fraction Of Vegeta’s Power

When Vegeta first arrives on Planet Namek, he’s feeling particularly confident in his abilities. Dut he becomes greatly humbled after Frieza turns his esteemed group of mercenaries, the Ginyu Force, on the heroes. Vegeta does all right against the group’s weakest member, Guldo, but he’s useless against Recoome and the group’s higher tier of warriors. Vegeta has grown so much since his time on Planet Namek that not only can he easily defeat their leader, Captain Ginyu, but he’d be able to take on the whole Ginyu Force at once and still come out on top.

8 Vegeta’s Mere Aura Would Push Super Android 13 To Malfunction

Dragon Ball Z has over a dozen feature films that bring some very dangerous enemies into the mix, but these extra adventures are typically another opportunity for Goku to shine. Vegeta is present during the assault against Androids 13-15, but he doesn’t contribute much to the overall outcome, especially once they combine together into Super Android 13.

Goku is even temporarily helpless against the upgraded Android’s power boost. Vegeta has substantially surpassed his standard Super Saiyan limit that was present during his encounter with these Androids. A future rematch would be a nice moment where Future Trunks could see his father take in a victory.

7 Cell Would Be A Warm Up With Vegeta’s Current Strength

Cell marks an important turning point in Dragon Ball, since the defeat of this villain mixes up the series’ standard structure. Not only is Gohan the one who experiences this win and a new Super Saiyan transformation, but Cell actually successfully takes out Goku. Vegeta is largely sidelined through this, but he still holds a visceral hatred towards Cell, who temporarily kills his son. Cell hasn’t returned nearly as often as Frieza, but it feels like Vegeta should be the one who gets to deal with him.

6 Vegeta’s Recent Ultra Ego Progress Would Leave Broly Struggling

Broly, Dragon Ball’s Legendary Super Saiyan, has gone through a lot of change. Broly originally plays a major role in Dragon Ball Z’s movies, showing up as the villain in three of them, before he properly gets worked into the canon in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Vegeta doesn’t get to make much of a dent on Broly during his original appearances, and in Dragon Ball Super it’s really more of a team effort from Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta. At the time, Broly surpassed Vegeta, but the improvements that he’s made through learning Forced Spirit Fission and Ultra Ego would now likely give him the advantage.

5 Kid Buu’s Tricks Pale In Comparison To Vegeta’s New Godly Talents

The final villain that threatens the planet in Dragon Ball Z is Majin Buu, who goes through a myriad of transformations until he reaches his purest and most powerful state, Kid Buu. Many different strategies are unsuccessfull against Buu, including fusion, Super Saiyan 3 strength, and Gohan’s Ultimate upgrade and Kai training.

In the end, it’s Goku with his biggest Spirit Bomb yet that extinguishes this ancient evil. It’s a powerful moment, but Vegeta has only improved since his time against Buu. Vegeta’s self-destructive sacrifice wasn’t enough to defeat Buu, but he’s since mastered Super Saiyan Blue strength and the ways of Hakai.

4 Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta Deserves Another Chance To Defeat Golden Frieza

Vegeta has developed his fair share of grudges over the years, but he continues to harbor extreme resentment towards Frieza. Not only is Frieza responsible for the destruction of Planet Vegeta and the extinction of the Saiyans, but Vegeta was personally executed by Frieza back on Planet Namek. Vegeta gets a second chance against Frieza when he returns with his new Golden form. Curiously, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta does surpass Golden Frieza, but it’s Vegeta’s own hubris that allows Frieza to sneak out a victory by blowing up the Earth. Vegeta wouldn’t let this mistake happen again.

3 Baby’s Possession Of Vegeta Makes Him The Perfect Target For Revenge

Vegeta becomes subjected to evil possessions on more than a few occasions. One of the most debilitating examples of this is in Dragon Ball GT when vengeful Baby takes over Vegeta’s body and almost succeeds in his plan to create a new home for his fallen Tuffle people. Vegeta is helpless to Baby’s infection and it takes the new strength of Super Saiyan 4 Goku to finally bring him back to his senses. Vegeta deserves a chance to get revenge against Baby and the parasite would stand no chance against Vegeta after he reaches Super Saiyan Blue and Ultra Ego levels of power.

2 Super 17 Faces A Hindered Vegeta Who’s Not At His Best

Androids make a dangerous comeback in Dragon Ball GT after Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu pool together their twisted talents. Super 17 is a fusion between Android 17 and Hell Fighter 17, who causes reckless destruction and even kills some of the series’ most beloved characters. Goku’s rarely used Dragon Fist is what finishes off this mechanical menace while Vegeta gets beaten and fails to contribute to the Android’s defeat. Vegeta’s current strength is far beyond his levels of power in Dragon Ball GT, but he’d even be able to defeat Super 17 with where his strength is at when GT ends.

1 Moro Would Crumble Against Vegeta’s New Ultra Ego Strength

Dragon Ball Super’s manga gets much deeper into the franchise’s narrative and explores beyond the anime’s concluding Tournament of Power. Planet-Eater Moro is an ancient magic user who makes Buu look like a mere nuisance in comparison to his strength. Moro eventually fuses with the planet and requires the full extent of Goku’s Ultra Instinct powers to finally be defeated. Vegeta’s Forced Spirit Fission is instrumental to Moro’s defeat, but he still can’t defeat the villain on his own. Not much time has passed, but Vegeta has since tapped into Ultra Ego and God of Destruction level power, which could be enough to subdue Moro.
