Dragon Ball 10 Strongest Villains Defeated By Teamwork Ranked
Sometimes one Z Fighter just isn't enough to finish off the villain, so they'll team up and work together to take them out with combined power.

In Dragon Ball Z, it can be easy to think the only character who matters in every fight is Goku. And that’s a fair assessment most of the time, since as protagonist, he’s most often the one who finishes off all of the major enemies of the show.
But while DBZ is about fighting, it doesn’t always come down to a simple duel between the two strongest people in the show. Sometimes the enemy is so powerful that no one character is able to get the job done. And when that happens, the Z Fighters aren’t afraid to engage in a bit of teamwork to finish off the bad guy.
10 Raditz Needed Both Piccolo And Goku Working Together To Take Him Out

Raditz was the first threat to appear that so greatly outclassed all of the heroes that even Goku wasn’t enough to defeat him by himself. At the time, Raditz had a power level of 1200 while Goku was just barely over 400—in other words, Raditz was three times stronger than Goku was. Working with Piccolo really only lead to the both of them getting embarrassed. But after Goku managed to lock Raditz into a full nelson, he was unable to dodge Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon, which could only have been fired because Goku gave him enough time to charge it.
9 Guldo Was Able To Stop Both Gohan And Krillin But Couldn't Defend Himself From Vegeta

Guldo was a member of the Ginyu Force that had the lowest power level at only 10,000, but also the best special ability next to Ginyu himself. Guldo was able to stop time as long as he was able to hold his breath. In other words, despite Krillin and Gohan both being stronger than he was, neither was able to do any real damage to him because he could always stop time and distract them.
Eventually, they were both going to be killed by him because of his psychic ability to freeze them in place, but while Guldo was distracted, Vegeta killed him. And while Vegeta normally wouldn’t have needed help, Guldo’s time stop and telekinetic abilities would have likely worked on him as well.
8 Vegeta Had All But Defeated Goku And Every Other Member Of The Z Fighters Worked Together To Take Him Down

Everyone remembers Goku fighting Vegeta alone, winning the beam struggle, and proving himself the better fighter. What everyone forgot is that afterwards Goku had used up all of his strength and couldn’t actually fight, while Vegeta was merely angry. It took every remaining Z Fighter to take Vegeta down.
Yajirobe cut off his tail; Gohan became a giant and exhausted the remnants of his energy. Krillin took the remaining spirit bomb energy and tossed it at Vegeta, only for Vegeta to dodge...and Gohan to bounce it back to finish him off. Beating Vegeta was an inspired team effort.
7 Ginyu Took Goku's Body And It Took Everyone Working Together To Make Him Swap Back

Ginyu wasn’t actually in the same league as Goku in terms of power level, with Goku having access to the Kaioken to multiply his power level whenever he wanted. But how strong Goku was was actually irrelevant, as Ginyu simply stole his body after injuring his own. In Goku’s body, Ginyu would have eventually become an even bigger threat...but he didn’t know how to use Goku’s full power.
Gohan and Krillin were able to keep up with him until Vegeta joined the fight, and he was powerful enough to beat Ginyu badly enough to make him switch bodies. Goku was there to get his body back and leave Ginyu trapped in his own, weakened form.
6 Cell Was Matching Gohan's Energy Until Vegeta Hit Him With A Blast And Distracted Him

Cell was almost defeated several times before he finally reached his Perfect Form and became untouchable. All Cell wanted was to prove he was stronger than the most powerful fighter on Earth, but when he ran into Super Saiyan 2 Gohan, he realized that there were limits to his power.
Cell immediately transcended those limits once he became back in his Super Perfect form. After that, it took Gohan working with his father with the Kamehameha wave to stop Cell. But even then, Cell’s power was so great that Gohan almost wasn’t enough—until Vegeta fired off one last attack at Cell to distract him, allowing Gohan to finish him off for good.
5 Buu Fought Vegeta While Goku Gathered The Spirit Bomb Energy To Take Him Out

Majin Buu went through several different forms much like Cell, but it wasn’t always a linear growth in terms of power. He became Evil Buu, then later Super Buu, before finally becoming Kid Buu. And it was within this incredibly dangerous form that he was finally “weakened” enough to be defeated.
Both Vegeta and Goku fought Buu as long as they could before Goku had to gather the energy of the Earth to defeat Buu, while Vegeta held Buu off long enough to let him get the energy. Even Hercule helped out here, as neither Goku nor Vegeta were convincing enough for the people of Earth to agree to hand over their energy.
4 Frieza Nearly Defeated Goku And Vegeta Until Whis Rewound Time To Give Them Another Shot

When Frieza came back to life, he had an entirely new form to boast about. After spending months training to get himself up to a respectable level, Frieza arrived on Earth with his Golden Frieza form, which was surprisingly even more powerful than Super Saiyan Blue.
Goku struggled against Frieza’s power, but once it wore off, Vegeta was able to step in and give Frieza the beating he deserved. But because Frieza is such a sore loser, his response to catching that loss was to blow up the planet. Whis fortunately was merciful enough to rewind time, allowing Goku to rush in and deliver a Kamehameha to finish Frieza off.
3 Anilaza Was Defeated By All The Universe 7 Members Working Together

Anilaza was the secret weapon of Universe 3--a collection of robotic warriors that kept becoming more powerful as they merged together. The remaining Universe 7 members weren't able to deal with him without nearly getting knocked out of the ring, like Goku almost did.
So, rather than continue to try to face him solo, they all worked together with a combined beam attack...and even that wasn't enough. Android 18 still got eliminated just trying to keep Android 17 from being pushed out, and it was only when 17 rushed in and blew up Anilaza's core that they finally were able to knock him off stage.
2 Jiren's Power Meant Even Ultra Instinct Wasn't Enough To Get Him Out Of The Tournament

Jiren was an all hands on deck type of situation. After beating the likes of Hit, Vegeta, and more, Jiren was still a monster even after suffering a beatdown at the hands of Ultra Instinct Goku. In the end, it took Goku working together with his former enemies in Frieza and Android 17 to stand a chance against Jiren.
It was an epic moment that left fans everywhere in awe at watching two mortal enemies like Goku and Frieza working together against Jiren to avoid being erased. And even then, Jiren still managed to take all but two of them out, leaving only Android 17 in the ring when the tournament was finished.
1 Broly Was So Powerful Only The Fusion Of Goku And Vegeta Could Stop Him

When Broly landed on Earth, initially Vegeta and Goku went with their usual plan. They both decided to fight him solo, relying on no one for help. But eventually Goku tagged in and recognized they were vastly outpowered.
The two of them would later have to teleport away to Piccolo, leaving Broly to fight a Frieza that was responsible for killing Broly’s dad. Frieza took Broly’s attacks for an entire hour before Gogeta arrived, boasting the full power of the two Super Saiyans fused. Together, they were able to put a quick stop to Broly’s rampage, until Broly was finally teleported back to his home planet.
