Dragon Ball 10 Strongest Duos Ranked
Individual strength is important in Dragon Ball, but the anime often values the teamwork of a strong duo of partners just as much.

Dragon Ball is one of the most iconic anime series of all time and it’s managed to achieve a level of mainstream success that is extremely rare even for the most popular of anime series. Dragon Ball has been around in some shape or form for several decades and its strong storytelling has helped inform and influence the larger shonen genre in significant ways.
Dragon Ball often revolves around combat and feats of strength and there is a growing list of exceedingly powerful characters in the series. Individual strength is important in Dragon Ball, but the anime often values the teamwork of a strong duo of partners just as much.
10 Vegeta & Nappa is The First Dangerous Duo In Dragon Ball Z

Dragon Ball Z kicks off in a very exciting fashion with the introduction of the deadly Saiyans. Raditz is just a warmup and the team of Vegeta and Nappa is so dangerous that it kills several of the Earth’s strongest fighters and major characters from the original Dragon Ball series.
Vegeta and Nappa are very feared during their first appearance, but in comparison to where everyone else is now, they wouldn’t amount to much of a challenge. The duo helps mark the new breed of warriors in Dragon Ball Z, but it’s progressed far beyond this point.
9 Dodoria & Zarbon Are Frieza’s Deadly Support Staff

Dragon Ball Z takes many characters out of their comfort zones when they head to Planet Namek to handle the threat of Frieza. Goku is temporarily out of the picture at this point, so Krillin and Gohan must contend with threats like the Ginyu Force and Dodoria and Zarbon.
Dodoria and Zarbon look truly alien and they’re largely Frieza’s grunts when he doesn’t want to get his hands dirty. Initially, Dodoria and Zarbon — especially in his transformed state — are marginal challenges, but Vegeta is still able to defeat them. Everyone has only gotten stronger and so Dodoria and Zarbon become increasingly irrelevant.
8 Tien & Chiaotzu Face The Limitations Of Not Being Saiyans

During the original Dragon Ball series — when characters are much more grounded and even techniques like flight were a rarity — Tien and Chiaotzu are treated like extremely difficult opponents for Goku to take on.
Tien and Chiaotzu slowly fade into obscurity during Dragon Ball Z, but Dragon Ball Super allows them some temporary redemption when Tien joins Universe 7 in the Tournament of Power. Tien and Chiaotzu are still nowhere near the level of any basic Saiyan, but they’ve kept up with their training and can still defend themselves if necessary.
7 Future Trunks & Future Gohan Are Survivors From A Broken Timeline

Future Trunks is easily one of the most fascinating characters in the Dragon Ball franchise and he plays a major role during the Cell Saga when he travels from his own apocalyptic timeline to prevent history from repeating itself.
Future Trunks is able to help out in significant ways, but the History of Trunks Special also details that he worked in tandem with his mentor, Future Gohan. Future Gohan ultimately meets his end by Androids 17 and 18, but the two still save a lot of lives, and collectively they’re able to both turn Super Saiyan.
6 Goten & Trunks Have A Whole Lifetime Of Teamwork Ahead Of Them

Goten and Trunks are lucky enough that both Goku and Vegeta had children at relatively the same time and that they’re able to be such good friends that learn the ropes of combat together. So many characters in Dragon Ball are adults, which leaves Goten and Trunks as natural allies.
The two become less important in Dragon Ball Super, but they’re still exceedingly powerful. They’re both impressive Super Saiyans on their own and as Gotenks, they can achieve Super Saiyan 3 status because their synergy as partners is so precise.
5 Androids 17 & 18 Have Grown From Villainous Duo To Two Of Earth’s Finest

Dragon Ball has a tendency to turn some of its biggest villains into integral allies throughout the course of the series. Androids 17 and 18 are killing machines when they’re first introduced, but as Cell leaves the picture, they’re able to form new and heroic existences.
These two sibling Androids have been apart for a long time, but they come back together during Dragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Power and they prove that they’re two of Universe 7’s very best fighters. They stay in competition longer than most of Earth’s defenders and it’s a result of their strong teamwork.
4 Kale & Caulifla Show What Universe 6 Saiyans Bring To The Table

Dragon Ball Super’s multiverse opens up all sorts of possibilities, like how Universe 6 brings some new Saiyans into the fray. Cabba, Kale, and Caulifla learn a lot from Goku and Vegeta, but they’re also a worthy team that represents their own universe.
Kale is a much more docile Saiyan in comparison to her sister, Caulifla, but together the two balance one another out and bring out their best. Kale in her Super Saiyan Berserk form makes the duo practically unstoppable. They’re also just as dangerous in their fused form, Kefla, which gives the team options in battle.
3 Zamasu & Goku Black Are A Deadly Echo Chamber Of Bitterness

The Goku Black Saga contains some of Dragon Ball Super’s most suspenseful and unpredictable episodes. The idea of an evil alternate Goku is endlessly appealing, but the mystery that unfolds with Supreme Kai, Zamasu, is even more intriguing.
Goku Black and Zamasu nearly succeed in their plan to exterminate all mortals and obtain immortality. Part of the reason these two are so in sync is that Goku Black is actually a future version of Zamasu. The two even later combine into Fused Zamasu, which is the perfect synthesis of their teamwork.
2 Beerus & Whis Are Universe 7’s Ultimate Defense System

Beerus and Whis are major characters that help kick off Dragon Ball Super, and although they’re initially a threat of sorts, they’re now some of Goku’s most important friends. Beerus and Whis often operate in tandem since Universe 7’s wellbeing is considered to be their responsibility.
Beerus’ full God of Destruction powers have yet to be seen, but he can easily erase individuals if he feels like it. Whis’ abilities are even more advanced and he’s able to rewind time in extreme situations. A team of Ultra Instinct fighters would still struggle against these two, which is saying something.
1 Zeno & Future Zeno Literally Control The Universes

The Dragon Ball franchise has gradually explored new tiers of celestial leaders. King Kai seemed like a big deal back in Dragon Ball Z, but there are now several tiers of Kai, which evidently go even higher to include Angels and Gods of Destruction.
However, Grand King Zeno is the top of everything and can destroy entire galaxies on a whim. Goku’s inadvertent meddling results in Zeno and the Zeno from the future timeline becoming best friends. Just one Zeno is enough to restart reality and so the fact that both are together means that nothing can stop these two.
